As Nigeria prepared for the March 11, 2023 governorship and state assembly elections, our founder, Mrs. Soyebi Abiodun (widely known as Shokesta Woman), called on eligible voters to take full ownership of their civic responsibilities by voting for credible and visionary leaders.
“Every vote matters,” she emphasized during a recent phone chat. “It’s not just a civic duty; it’s a powerful tool to shape the kind of community and future we all desire—one where justice, good governance, and equal opportunities thrive.”
Mrs. Abiodun, who also leads the Awe International City of Peace initiative, reminded citizens that voting is a pathway to influence issues that affect everyday life—like affordable housing, education, health care, and transparent use of public funds. “When we vote the right leaders into office, we can hold them accountable and ensure that resources are used to improve the lives of real people—our families, neighbors, and communities.”
